DOERS strives to provide material, humanitarian aid to victims of war, oppression, poverty and natural disasters, and to educate the public about the causes and cures for the problems we address.

The clothing we sell is made by Afghani widows in Afghanistan who have learned to read, write, sew and embroider in a 9-week course funded by the Afghan Womens Fund. This life-changing course lets them escape the common fate of desperate widows in Afghanistan: begging or prostitution. Instead they can work from home or in community centers paid for by AWF, but built and administered by local people.
