Creating opportunities and building brighter futures through a just marketplace.

Stuffed animals and finger puppets are hand knit in a remote area of the Andes Mountains by women from the artisan group El Mercurio. They are expert knitters, passing the skill from mother to daughter, sometimes using bicycle spokes as extra needles. Knitting these products has not only given the artisans a significant increase in their incomes, it has also provided them with a support group, and given them more say in their families and community.
